John And Edward Pull In The X Factor Votes

It's generally rumoured that somehow John and Edward got the most votes on last weekend's X Factor - yes really! Whatever the reason it's woken the bookmakers up to the fact that the Irish duo could actually come close to winning the whole thing. As I write there is steam escaping from Simon Cowell's ears at this very thought.

The fact is, whether Simon likes it or not, John and Edward Grimes have captured the publics' imagination despite the fact that they aren't too hot at singing. They look great, and different, and appeal to the young and fun market.

The twins odds of winning have shortened so the publicity machine will go into overdrive to stop this happening. Manipulation is afoot.

Everyone's favourite to win X Factor seems to be Joe McElderry but wouldn't it be funny to see John and Edward upset the applecart? Imagine Simon's face. He's already got his knickers in a twist by having Danyl Johnson in the sing offs and has supposedly been blasting Cheryl and Dannii. So much so that Cheryl described him as being, 'rude and nasty'.

But, of course, conflicts and rumours of upsets all help the X Factor viewing figures and I guess most, well some, viewers realise that it's all illusion and manipulation. Money is the real name of the game.

According to the Mirror Katie Price and boyfriend Alex Reid have split following a row - at least temporarily.

A source told the Mirror: "She may come across as having a tough exterior but she’s broken by the split with Pete and she’s trying to persuade herself that being with Alex is what she needs. She’s been distant and acting weird with him all week. Alex was trying to comfort her but every time he tried to cuddle her she’d snap, 'Get away from me'. He yelled back, 'You're clearly not over Pete'.

Lady Gaga
Lady Gaga has been telling her Twitter followers about her father's heart operation. She wrote: "My Daddy had open heart surgery today. And after long hours, and lots of tears, they healed his broken heart, and mine. Speechless." Her next Tweet said: "At the hospital. Giving daddy a footrub while he falls asleep. He's my hero."

Natalie Cassidy
It's rumoured that Natalie Cassidy is to return to the soap Eastenders along with the rest of the Jackson family: Dean Gaffney, as brother Robbie and Lindsey Coulson as mother Carol plus Billy to be played by a new actor. Why for heaven's sake?! Eastenders seems to have lost it's way.

Former Smiths man Morrissey is back home after a night in hospital following collapsing at a Swindon gig with breathing difficulties. He was retained at Great Western Hospital as a precautinary measure.

Andrew Lloyd Webber
61 year old Andrew Lloyd Webber has prostrate cancer. A spokesperson said, "Andrew is now undergoing treatment and expects to be fully back at work before the end of the year." We wish him well

Brad Pitt
It appears that Brad Pitt had a minor accident when he fell off his motor cycle in Los Angeles. He wasn't hurt though and the incident wasn't even reported to police. A fuss about nothing really.

Whitney Houston To Plug New CD On X Factor

X Factor will see Whitney Houston making her first UK television appearance for twelve years - and she's doing so the day before her comeback release I Look to You (UK link) is released. Good timing!

18th of October is when she will be on X Factor, really to plug her first studio album for seven years. Whitney said, "It should be a fun night. I am a fan of Simon Cowell's and look forward to meeting him."

I Look to You (USA link) went to number one in the USA charts and quickly racked up sales of over 300,000. Oh and Whitney says that she is now drug free

Nicholas Lyndhurst
Only Fools and Horses star Nicholas Lyndhurst is to play the father of the character Rodney Trotter which he played in the classic comedy. The new comedy, to be called Sex, Drugs & Rock 'n' Chips, will be on BBC next year.

At long last, after 19 attempts, Ozzy Osbourne has passed his driving test. He said, "I just passed my driving test. Took me 60 yrs but I did it! For the 1st time in my life I'm legal to drive, so watch out!"

After canceling three dates of her US tour last week Miley Cyrus will be back performing on Tuesday at Auburn Hills, Michigan. Miley wrote on Twitter, "Got the go ahead from the Doc & the beast is ready to be unleashed! I always love performing in MI but this show is gonna get crazzzzyyy!"

According to Hello! magazine the mother of the Ukrainian child, Elton John was hoping to adopt, has spoken out against the adoption. The troubled mother is quoted as saying about her son, "I love him so much and desperately want him back so I can hold him again,"

Katy Perry And Russell Brand Twittering From Thailand

It is rumoured that Katy Perry and Russell Brand have been together in Thailand for about seven days.

The couple's Twitter accounts verify that they were in Thailand at the same time. Katy Twittered: "After a week in magical Thailand I'm ready 2 face the real world again" and while there Russell asked, "I'm in Thailand is it right for non Buddhists to visit temples? Is it ok to snog the statues? Help!"

According to the Mirror a friend of Katy is quoted as saying, "Despite his reputation, Katy thinks Russell is so charming she just wants to give things a go with him. She thinks he is hilarious and incredibly sexy."
