[Selection] Villa tells Del Bosque he can count on him
Summit on Tuesday in Barcelona with a view to the Euro.
Javier Miñano, trainer selection, accompanied Vicente del Bosque yesterday in Barcelona to evaluate the fitness of David Villa with a view to the European Championship for Spain begins on June 10, the day of his competition debut against Italy.
Asturian striker told they can count on him because he will able to play, but obviously left the final decision in the hands of the coach, which will list on 15 May.
Miñano also spoke with the athletic trainers of Barça following the day to day evolution of 'El Guaje', especially Emili Ricart, and consulted doctors at the club azulgrana. Afternoon Del Bosque Miñano and went to Camp Nou to watch Barça-Chelsea.
Villa broke his left shin in Japan in the semifinals of the Club World Cup on December 15 and had surgery four days later in Barcelona. He was diagnosed between 4 and 5 months out.
The term was fulfilled more optimistic last week and the '7 'of Barça has not yet been run on grass, although recovery is under way outside the group and away from the cameras.
Del Bosque has always said it wants to wait, but only if you are sure it will be able to play. In Barça are more cautious and, although the desire was to have him in the last month of competition, it is assumed that the high of 'El Guaje' will approach those 5 months that fall within the logic. Eusebio will also be missing Kiko Femenía, who trained apart from the group today as he continues to recovery from injury.
Eusebio Sacristán will not be able to field Gerard Deulofeu against Girona in Barça B’s upcoming Liga match on Saturday (18:00). The player is still recovering from an ankle sprain that he sustained in the match against Córdoba last week. Therefore the Catalan will be added to the list of unavailable players along with Tello and Montoya, with the first team, and Ilie and Miño, both of whom are injured. Kiko Femenía is also injured.
The team completed their final training session this Friday before they play the Catalan derby against Girona. The match will be played at the Montilivi Municipal Stadium. For this match, Eusebio will be able to use Bartra and Muniesa, who have returned to training with the reserve side after a short stint with the first team.
Sacristán explained what type of game he anticipates when his men take on Girona tomorrow: “they will be motivated, especially because of their position in the table.” It’s worth mentioning that Girona is currently sitting in the 12th spot of the Liga Adelante and with six points they can secure their spot in the league. “They’ve played at a good level in their past couple of games, including a victory against the leaders Deportivo,” who they beat 1-0 two weeks ago. “It would be a good birthday present to win on Saturday,” concluded Sacristán, who turns 48 this Friday. Gerard Piqué, ruled out playing in Zaragoza
Problems in the Barça defender for Saturday's game at Zaragoza. Piqué will be low.
Nobody panic. The injury that has Gerard Piqué is not important, but by Saturday there is not enough time to recover and so the defense will be low for the match against Zaragoza. By contrast, almost certainly will play and on Tuesday in a new league match, in this case in the Camp Nou against Getafe.
Piqué was replaced in the 74th minute of the match against Milan. He felt discomfort in hamstring and taking into account the numerous cases of muscle injury that has been this season, did not want surprises. Requested the change quickly and lay down on the ground and was replaced by Adriano. After the meeting, the club has announced that the defense was just an overload on the biceps femoris at that time not ruled out for the next game.
With the decline of Piqué, Zaragoza probably Guardiola play with Alves, Puyol, Mascherano and Adriano, while Montoya and Muniesa be on the bench ready to go if the technician so wishes. (via SPORT)
