It seems that no one is safe from the global financial crises - even the likes of Simon Cowell.

It is being reported that Simon may lose many millions over a failed property venture in Barbados. He was allegedly buying a £15 million villa on the Island's Clearwater Bay Development but this has all been halted, for the foreseeable future, because of supposed financial problems.

A source is said to have commented, "It’s a big problem. He’s got a lot of money tied up over there and doesn’t know yet whether he’s going to get it back."

Chat show host Jonathan Ross was back on television last night following his ban for the Sachs controversy.

I see that Andrew Sachs and his daughter have been in the press today telling of how Ross/Brand have 'ripped their family apart.' Sachs hasn't spoken to granddaughter Georgina Baillie since the infamous phone calls.

Though Ross and Brand were in the wrong the problem between Sachs and Georgina is because he found out that she dabbled in porn and drugs and was in a group called the Satanic Sluts. So isn't Georgina also partly to blame? If she'd been a clean living girl the whole matter would no doubt be all forgotten now.

It seems that socialite (what on earth does that mean?) Paris Hilton caused havoc in Japan when she went to buy some food from Subway. Hundreds of fans swarmed her car and jammed the Tokyo traffic. Paris had to go without her food and sent a flunky for it later. What exactly is her great appeal?

Alexandra Burke Wins X Factor
As expected Alexandra Burke won last night's X Factor final and is now destined to be the UK's number one single at Christmas. Downloads started from midnight. The Hallelujah (Single) will be released on the 17th of December.

JLS were second with Eoghan Quigg third.

Alexandra, again as expected, burst into tears as did Cheryl Cole and everyone was happily blubbing away so much so that Alex was virtually unable to talk.

As for Simon Cowell he was delighted and hugged Cheryl as he blissfully closed his eyes and counted his future earnings in his head. It was the right result for him as Alexandra could well become another Leona Lewis and do well in the US as well.

Over 8 million votes were cast for the final result.

Simon Cowell has said regarding the Britney Spears performance on UK's X Factor where there was a lot of criticism, "There was more buzz, more excitement, for this girl than anyone else. You've got to hand it to her. She's a great performer."

Britney Spears deemed to honour X Factor with her presence last night. Diddy little Dermot was nearly orgasmic with excitement as he mentioned her name in virtually every sentence and kept on and on about it being Britney Spears Night.

As for Britney she managed to lip sinc her way through her one song and many viewers must have scratched their heads wondering what all of the excessive hype was about.

She looked okay, she danced efficiently and afterwards uttered a few platitudes about how 'she loved being here in London, it's awesome' and when asked about the X Factor contestants managed to come up with the words of wisdom, "Good luck and just keep doing it."

Somehow the whole Britney Spears performance was just her doing her routine job, there was no real passion or personality. Quite honestly Miley Cyrus, who was also on the show knocked, her for six and was far better entertainment value.

Disappointing, to say the least, and to think the X Factor contestants had to also sing Britney songs in her honour - most of which were completely unsuitable.

As for the real part of the show, when it wasn't simply a publicity generating machine for Britney, was that Ruth Lorenzo was predictably voted out.

And the winner of X Factor is/will be ... Simon Cowell! Well done Simon.

Dannii Minogue Declines Strip Offer from Simon Cowell

We have written previously about how Dannii Minogue likes lapdancers! There was, for example, the post we wrote about her and Kelly Simpson. There is also a photo of Kelly here (if you are over 18).

All of this has interested the main man himself, Simon Cowell. He has seemingly 'begged her to join him at strip clubs.' At the present time Simon and Dannii are appearing in the UK's X Factor together as judges.

Dannii Minogue said, "Simon's fond of the the odd strip joint and suggested we got together. I was like: 'I don't think so some how.' Simon's a naughty boy in need of spanking. I have a web area on my X Factor website that has my pictures on and in two of them he's staring at my arse."

When asked if there could be anything between her and Simon she replied, "He's not my type. I want a boyfriend who can treat me like the Princess I am. That's not Simon. And his hair's too square anyway." Strange she forgot to add, '... and he's got a girlfriend'!

It seems that Dannii Minogue has an X Factor contestant admirer. Or perhaps it's more than this. The gruesome Rhydian Roberts is telling friends 'it could be love'. As if!

Everyone at Boot Camp finds Roberts' interest in Dannii very entertaining as it's so obvious that she isn't the least bit attracted to the man about whom Sharon Osborne said, "I want to throw things at him. He's revolting."

The buzz is that X Factor is fixed - which is pretty well a nonsense. It's said that Simon Cowell has it all wrapped up with the group Hope and he is giving them special treatment. The manufactured group aren't exactly flavour of the week amongst the other contestants. But as for a fix - no way.

Louis Walsh
He's not happy that he's got the over 25's to mentor and even said to them, "I didn't want you." Tough! What's the matter with this bloke, it's a competition. He's got to get on with it and stop moaning. Surely he didn't expect Simon to get them - get real!

Sharon Osbourne
And she's not happy either that she's got the girls. Sharon has even been quoted as being 'furious' as she is desperate to win this year for the first time. It is generally felt that the girls are the weaker section.

Dannii Minogue again
At least Dannii is satisfied that she's got the boys to handle. She's 'over the moon' at the thought and the boys aren't exactly disappointed. Like Rhydian Roberts, several fancy her but Danni wants a winner not a toyboy - probably!

As Tom Cruise has now attained the highest level within the Scientology organisation (or is it a religion?) he is able to conduct Scientology weddings. The word is that he may 'marry' his close friend, and also a Scientologist, James Packer and his partner Erica Baxter. James is son of the business and media tycoon Kerry Packer.

The tosh some newspapers write. The Daily Star today writes that Charley Uchea has said, "I'm an actress." They say this is a 'sensational admission (which) proves her tantrums are a desperate play to become famous.' Sensational? Hardly, the Star really must be desperate for news to have this as their main front page story. Isn't, to become famous, what all of the Big Brother contestants are hoping for? Of course it is. It's now been proved that Eddie Murphy is the father of Mel B's baby, Angel. Up until now Murphy has refused to accept that the baby is his but a DNA test has proved otherwise. Mel B would not comment on the news as she considers it a private matter. Mel B was quoted in OK! magazine as saying, "I will always love him, I couldn't hate Eddie. We had a dream life."

It looks as if Simon Cowell has been eating humble pie after his asking Louis Walsh to return for the next UK X Factor series. It seems that Louis supposed replacement wasn't up to scratch. This should mean a bigger pay packet for Mr. Walsh, than his previous stingy £1 million.

An Alcoholics Anonymous counsellor has told Britney Spears that she must stop drinking or risk losing her life. The counsellor says, "I told her that if she falls off the wagon I don't think she will live. I also told her: If you don't want to get sober for yourself, do it for your kids." He hasn't seen Britney for three weeks and fears she may be back on the booze. A recent photo of Britney on the right.

It seems that Michael Barrymore will have a wait before he knows whether he faces charges over the death of Stuart Lubbock. He may have a decision on August 1st when he answers bail.

Simon Cowell The Man With The Midas Touch

Today's post is a feature on Simon Cowell.

Simon Cowell was born on October 7th, 1959 in Brighton, England but was brought up in Elstree. His father was a music industry executive as well as being involved with property development. So Simon had a good start in life.

He went to college in Dover but left early and moved from job to job. His start in the music business was when his father got him work in the mail room of the EMI - a large music company near London.

In 1984 he met Pete Waterman previously of Stock Aitken Waterman who produced and wrote many hit records including number ones for Kylie Minogue. Simon Cowell is quoted as saying, "I learned more from Waterman in a short time than I could have in an entire career with any major label."

Things went well at first but he was forced into bankruptcy in 1989 and was so skint he had to move in with his parents. The same year he started to work as an A&R consultant. This led to a reasonable degree of success with many hit records but the real Big Time was still to come.

Big Time shows made Cowell famous worldwide. This started with Pop Idol in the UK and American Idol in the USA. His acerbic comments made headline news, created controversy and turned him into a star in his own right.

The X Factor televison show followed and then came America's Got Talent and Britain's Got Talent.

It's hard to estimate Simon Cowell's wealth, though it must be somewhere in the region of £125/$250 million. His present income could be anything up to £23/$46 million per year.

His long term girlfriend is Terri Seymour though he is said to have been unfaithful to her - according to the News of the World newspaper. In fairness though Simon has always made it clear that he does want to settle down or have children.

At the moment the man has the midas touch and will no doubt continue his amazing success.

Paul Potts Wants A New Smile

Following on from the previous post about Paul Potts he has been talking about the money he has won.

Paul says that the first three essentials, to come out of his £100,000, are firstly £30,000 to cover his credit card debts, then a holiday for him and his 26 year old wife, Juli Ann, and thirdly to get his teeth fixed.

Paul Potts is very conscious of his uneven teeth that he has, until now, been unable to rectify. Now he wants to smile in confidence as he moves forward into his singing career. He doesn't think he'll get Simon Cowell style veneers though!

Paul has defintely given up his job at the Carphone Warehouse. His life is changing rapidly since he wowed Simon Cowell and the other judges with his version of Nessun Dorma. He's now ready to start recording his first album under the guidance of Simon, who has signed him up.

Paul Potts Wins Britain's Got Talent

For a change here is a new celebrity, heading for the big time, and one with real talent. The man is Paul Potts who last night won the UK television show Britain's Got Talent.

Now Paul Potts is no glamour figure, he's an ordinary bloke who can sing. Some say he's good enough to rival Pavarotti. Last night he sang Nessun Dorma and in doing so won £100.000 ($200,000) and a place in the line up for the Royal Variety Performance.

Paul Potts is on his way to a record deal, no doubt with Simon Cowell, and will go on to make millions.

Paul is, or rather was, a 26 year old mobile phone salesman. He has been on the fringes of the operatic world but never quite made it. He racked up huge credit card debts when attending a master class with the great man himself, Luciano Pavarotti. His money worries are now over.

Simon Cowell said, "Paul is a normal guy, a great talent and came in as an underdog. He gave one of the most incredible auditions I have ever seen."
