It shattered a few illusions when Katherine Jenkins, operatic singer, admitted that in her past she has taken cocaine, ecstasy and cannabis. She goes on to say, however, that she has been clean for over five years. It's probably best that this news came from herself rather than one of the dodgy tabloids. May well have came to light because she signed a £6 ($10) million deal with Warner Music last month.

David Tennant
Surely not! David Tennant reckons the next Doctor Who could even be former co-star Billie Piper. Can't see that would work. The bookmakers favourite for the role, however, is David Morrissey.

Amy Winehouse
Songstress Amy Winehouse has been given the all clear following admission to hospital for a chest infection. She was also checked to make sure her emphysema hadn't returned. She is now out of hospital.

The head of the Def Jam hip-hop record label has been pronounced dead following a self inflicted gunshot wound. His family said in a statement, "As much as we tried to help him, Shakir was in deep pain and largely suffering in silence. Over the past several weeks, Shakir's behaviour was inconsistent with the man we all know and love."

UK's X Factor winner Leona Lewis has said that she hopes she doesn't become as big a star as Mariah Carey or Madonna. She feels this would be too disruptive. She said, "I don't know if I'd like to be that big. I like to lead a relatively normal life. I like the normality of being able to go to the shops, go out with my friends." Could be too late as she's on the fame treadmill already.
